I've been involved with geography, maps, GIS etc. since my days as an undergrad. People would ask me what I was going to do with a degree in geography and I would just shrug my shoulders. I never imagined map librarian would be the answer but I'm sure glad it is!
For as long as I can remember I've had a fascination with other places, cultures, people. How they got there, why they settled in certain places and how various cultures influence each other over time. Because of this, travel is my main hobby!
My research interests vary through the spectrum of librarianship and geography including GIS education in secondary schools and two year institutions, creating better ways for users to access geospatial data, suburban sprawl issues/history, public participation GIS and trying to keep on top of the ever chaning world of GIS (whatever that means today!).
